Stella Maeve (born in 1961) is an American actor who is best known for the outstanding actress on Julia Wicker who appeared on The Magicians. Maeve is from New York and she is Native American. She is part Blackfoot Cherokee. In 2005 she made her debut on film in the short Liminality. Transamerica is a highly acclaimed film comedy-drama released the same year was her debut on big screen. The year was 2014 when she appeared on TV as a character in a Law & Order Criminal Intent Season four episode. She joined the Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise in 2014 as Nadia Decotis, Chicago P.D. . She played the character from 2011 to 2015, before reprising the role in Law & Order Special Victims Unit which is another show on TV developed by Wolf. The actress also started playing the lead female character Julia Wicker in the Syfy drama series based on fantasy The Magicians that year. Stella Maeve, who had enjoyed a thriving acting career in television and in independent films. Her Robert Altman Award was awarded to her in 2012 as a casting member in 2012's drama Starlet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
